Beauty Health: are you a woman of substance?
Your beauty health or beauty fitness can be defined as
'your level of healthy appreciation, acceptance and satisfaction
with the way you look'. So, how beautiful do you feel?
The focus throughout this site has mainly been on you -
your inner self and your journey toward self awareness and
ultimately, your self-worth. That is, how you feel about who
you are; what it is you really want; and where you want to be.
It is now time to focus your attention on your outer self -
your beauty health or beauty fitness, with a view to assessing
the extent to which your opinion of how you look, is congruent
with the impressive sense of self-worth you've been working so
hard to develop.
Your assessment will define your level of
satisfaction with your beauty health and beauty fitness.
It is fitting that beauty health is the last of your health areas,
since this is when you will learn just how effectively you have
been working toward achieving a strong sense of self and
self worth.
Should your beauty health or beauty fitness area
need a spot of work, you're already well equipped to achieve
outstanding results by setting a few beauty health goals.
By now, you most probably have achieved some pretty impressive
results with some of your health goals, which will have boosted
your self esteem and motivation no end.
If you've just arrive at
this page and you're serious about changing your life positively,
then I strongly recommend you start at
personal goal setting and work
your way through to beauty health here.
how do you feel about your beauty health?
If you're less than confident about how you look and about
how you perceive other people see you, you still have some work
to do and some goals to set in your beauty health or beauty
fitness area.
Beauty health is the last of the four health womens
health areas, which you must work on to achieve your holistic woman
health. It is of paramount importance that you look as confident,
attractive and assured on the outside, as you feel on the inside.
For many women, beauty health or beauty fitness means looking good,
which starts with a health and beauty
fitness diet and great anti-aging-nutrition of their skin.
But feeling good about how you look,
starts with great self-esteem. How you see yourself will have
a profound effect on how you present yourself to other people.
For example, the way in which you carry yourself, the level of
pride you take in dressing and in looking your best, will
reflect the extent of your beauty health and beauty fitness
satisfaction. And, since your real health and beauty lies in how
and what you portray, if you're feeling less than beautiful on the
inside, this is exactly what you will project to other people on
the outside. They will in turn read these 'cues' and respond to you
accordingly.
For many people, health and beauty is synonymous with youth, perfection
and they typically see daily images of these every where; i.e. in
that which always appear slightly out of reach - in the rich and
famous, in models and celebrities.
But, were you to peel away the
layers of skin from many of these celebrities, what would
you see? Might you see many a celebrity with an eating
disorder or
a drug addiction, possibly brought about by their many insecurities
about thier perceived lack of beauty health, beauty fitness or
attractiveness?
Or might you even see the many pressures they
come under to maintain their looks or shape, just to compete and
keep satisfied a 'beauty-fickle' and hungry section of society,
who are obsessed by 'looks' and nothing else?
In her book, A Waist Is A Terrible Thing To Mind: A Wake Up Call, Jan Phillips et al exposes the the devastating consequences of a culture's obsession with unnatural thinness and artificial beauty.
Having conventional beauty as we know it, does not necessarily mean that a model will see herself as 'attractive' or even perceive that other people will see her that way either. Take the late Diana, Princess of Wales for example.
While she did not radiate a jaw
dropping - most beautiful woman in the world kind of beauty, she was
nevertheless adored by many for her caring and her compassion.
These qualities, along with her vulnerability endeared her
tremendously to people worldwide. Yet, as she overcame her demons
in relation to her eating disorder and gained beauty health - i.e.
self-acceptance and her growing self-respect, her character shone
through so powerfully that she radiated a unique beauty that held
many in awe.
I remember thinking myself, how outwardly beautiful
she was becoming, which happen to coincide with the point in her
life when she was 'awakening' to her true inner beauty health.
Rethinking your beauty health
Being pretty - as it is commonly perceived today, is
largely dependent on the genes you inherited at birth. And
while you might well not consider yourself to be so, there
is more to being 'pretty' than meets the eye.
Pretty
might not necessarily include some or any of the following
criteria - i.e. being brainy, or vivacious, or intelligent or
gorgeous, sexy or compassionate, or kind, caring etc., Take
a closer look at some of the people you know - celebrities,
friends, family members and associates. How many of them do
you consider 'pretty or hansome?'
Now if you take a closer
look, you might see that some of their features are less than
perfect or that there is no one single facial characteristic
that is striking about them.
Yet, there's a high probability
that what really endears them to you is their character, which
shines through and make them the beautiful people you know,
care for or even admire. This is the true definition of
'beautiful'. Beauty health - is the quality and not the
quantity of how and what you perceive.
Beauty is really 'in the eyes of the beholder'. It is a
subjective perception. In some cultures, an elderly person's
face, characterised by age is seen as a sign of beauty and
is afforded great respect.
A dewdrop on a flower might be
the most beautiful sight to another person, yet meaningless
to someone else. Likewise, your beauty health perception
is to do with how you see yourself and
how you perceive other people are seeing you.
But it is more
than just the shape of your face, the size of your mouth or
the colour of your eyes or your skin colour.
Real beauty
involves your whole character - the full monty. Not every
one will value the same things about you but that does not
mean they will not value you.
It stands to
reason therefore that if you see yourself as being beautiful,
you will portray this and that's how you will be viewed - beautiful and likewise you
will also come to accept and believe that increasingly more.
So, how do you start working on your beauty health perception
and viewing yourself as you really are? You start by nurturing
those wonderful qualities which are unique to you; those, which
make you the beautiful person you really are. Resolve to change
your attitude, (which is being shaped by your self-perception),
toward your health and beauty. To do this you first need to acccpt,
recognise and change the signals you are sending out to
everyone about your perceived beauty health.
Once you begin to respect
the real beauty of you, and what you stand for, only then will your
inner beauty shine through. And, other people's perceptions will
change too.
The essence of beauty health
and beauty fitness
Here is a beautiful poem entitled 'the most beautiful woman in the
world'. It conjures up real feelings of the essence of beauty health
and beauty fitness. It also sends a powerful message that you
don't have to be any certain way to be beautiful.
Without a
shaddow of a doubt, there is far more to you, as a woman, than how you presently
perceive your beauty health.
Who is the...
Most Beautiful Woman In The World?
She has no special talent
No special beauty mark
No invention with a patent
No voice of a comely lark
No hourglass physique
No sunbeam likened smile
No lingering mystique
No manicured nails to file
But what she had she flaunted
With the style of a fur- lined stole
With the chic of a runway model
She flashed her beautiful soul
They say beauty is skin deep
Most Beautiful Woman In The World
(by Ruwaida Van Doorsen)
I'm pretty sure this peom will inspire you, so the next time you're
minded to think that Ms X - the movie star or top model is the most
beautiful woman in the world, think and remember that 'the grass always
appear greener on the other side'.
Nurture your unique qualities,
yes - you know, the ones that make you stand out from the crowd!
In terms of my looks, I happen to consider myself a very attractive
woman. One of my unique qualities is that I am a humanitarian who will
do anything I can to help any human being, irrespective.
While this
quality is open to being abused by some people I know, for many others,
it is perceived as being a wonderful characteristic, which in the process
makes me appear a very much more attractive and beautiful person in their
eyes.
Where do I stand on this? I consider myself one of the most
beautiful women in the world. Why? Because I know I'm a beautiful person;
I believe I'm a beautiful person, because my soul is beautiful; and
guess what? Other people are simply following my lead.

Remember, no single human being has it all. You might encounter a super model
who's slim and extremely pretty yet utterly ugly on the inside. (I'm
sure you can think of at least one).
Being 'pretty' is not the same
as having inner beauty and beauty health. The only true definition of
beauty, is that which you use to define yourself. Beauty lies in what
you portray and in how you project yourself.
Make a start on raising your beauty health to optimum levels. Identify
your unique qualities, traits and characteristics. Here's a
beauty fitness exercise to help you.
Learn to appreciate

beautiful for having these wonderful attributes. Tell yourself each night

Believe me, you'll wake
up one morning with utter conviction that you are indeed the most
beautiful woman in the world and you know what? You'd be spot on.
My
definition of true beauty is what I see in any beautiful person and that
is - a beautiful soul. Go set that goal girl!
