For our bodies to function optimally, our health nutrition
must be the centre of of our attention. Appropriate nutrition
health is dependent upon six major nutrients. These are:
Carbohydrates
Fats
Protein
Minerals
Vitamins
Water
It is no secret that poor dietary habits and food nutrition can have
devastating consequences on the human body. At best,
inadequate nutrition can lead to deficiencies in health
and nutrition. At worse it can lead to numerous health conditions
and even more serious, life threatening health problems and
diseases such as chronic heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis,
obesity etc.,
However, since many of these health conditions and diseases
can be prevented or even eliminated by following a nutritionally
healthy diet, it is never too late to adopt a more proactive,
healthy eating approach to your nutrition health.
The saying, 'We are what we eat' ring so true.
Essentially, what we put in, we get out. Every cell in
our body is playing its own unique role in supporting us.
Food health & nutrition is the mechanics by which these cells
receive what they need to support life itself.
since our body's ability to thrive or perish is dependent
upon how we take care of it, if we put in junk then
we should not be surprised when junk health is what it returns
to us.
A healthy diet consisting of the six major nutrients outlined
above, and in ample quota is therefore essential for promoting
optimum health and nutrition.
Remember, it is never too late to start paying attention to your
health nutrition. The body is a remarkable creation and have
the ability to bounce back from adversity but only if you start
now and continue as you mean to go on!
