Healthy Smoothie Recipe


A healthy smoothie recipe is an excellent way of meeting your five-a-day fruit and vegetable diet quota. While smoothies are no substitute for eating fresh fruit and vegetables, they never the less offer a practical and convenient way of getting more fruit and fibre into your diet. They are delicious too.

Because most smoothies are made with frozen fruit, a good tip is to harvest or buy in season when fruit is plentiful and freeze. Here are 4 delicious healthy smoothie recipe you can make. Do experiment with different fruit varieties and you may well find you come up with a gem of your own. Do remember to remove stones and seeds from all fruit prior to freezing or blending.



Apple and Cherry healthy smoothie

  • 2 Cups frozen cherries
  • 1 Cup frozen vanilla yogurt
  • 1 Cup apple juice

    Place yogurt into blender, followed by the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth.




    Apricot and and Peach healthy smoothie recipe

  • 1 Frozen peach
  • 10 Frozen blueberries
  • 1 Cup low fat frozen yogurt
  • half cup skimmed milk
  • A dash of vanilla essence

    Place all ingredients into a blender and blend to a smooth consistency




    Mixed Fruit smoothie recipe

  • Quarter pound strawberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 Peaches
  • 1 Cup Mango or orange juice
  • 2 Cups of ice

    Blend strawberries, banana and peaches to a smooth consistency then add mango juice, follwed by the ice and blend to the consistency you want




    Tropical healthy smoothie recipe

  • 1 Banana
  • A quarter of a cup coconut milk
  • Half a cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 Cup low fat frozen yogurt

    Blend all the ingredients together until smooth and serve
