This article provide an overview of your 7 dimensions of wellness. It will in turn link to each dimension individually, with a view to exploring more fully the factors relevant to each of these 7 aspects of health and wellness.
As you can see from the Health Womens Wellness Wheel, there are 7 dimensions of wellness. These are:
Yet, it is not unusual that many of us focus primarily upon the physical dimension of wellness for determining our state of health. While taking care of your physical health by ensuring adequate food health nutrition and regular exercising of your body is essential for health, these aspects of self-care represents only one dimension of your 7 aspects of health and wellness.
Since your body and mind are interrelated, each and every one of your 7 dimensions of wellness need to work in harmony with the another for optimal health and wellness balance.
In much the same way that you feed and exercise your body (physical dimension of wellness), you need also to feed and nourish your other 6 dimensions for optimal health and wellness in those areas.

mental wellness: factors relating to your ability to manage life's challenges while maintaining a sense of perspective emotional wellness: is concerned with your feelings and experiences of emotions such as love, fear, joy, sadness, anger etc., How you manage and control these emotions will be reflected in the strategies you employ for coping. intellectual wellness: relate to 'what', and 'how' you think. This aspect considers your insights through innovative thinking as well as the quality of intellectually stimulating activities or pastimes in which you engage.
Financial Health And Wellness Dimension
Spiritual Wellness: Spirituality can take on many different forms. It might be that you feel some kind of connection with nature, or a healthy respect for your elders. What do you believe in? Spiritual wellbeing requires us to believe in something far greater than ourselves. Whatever your personal spiritual beliefs, this fourth aspect of your 7 dimensions of wellness demands that you constantly seek and draw faith, hope and inspiration, whether through prayer; through nature; through meditation; or through your work.

Do also take a look at this health skill for wellness exercise. You'll need to work through it first before you move onto any of the exercises in any of your 7 dimensions of wellness. The activity will walk you through the process of assessing your wellness quotient in each aspect. Once you're armed with this information, you can start working on your low-scoring wellness dimensions, using some of the above exercises.
