Health Woman - Do You Know What Makes You Tick?
Are you a health woman? Were you blessed at birth with good health and happiness,
which the rest of us have to work for and maintain?
Even so, you still have to work to take care of your fitness and
health woman status if it's to continue taking care of you.
That's the ultimate goal of health and wellness. Since I'm
making it my mission to promote health for
women why not
come along for the ride and make it your mission too.
Many women have huge aspirations - I know, I have them too.
Yet for some women these largely remain unfulfilled - a
pipe dream. Why? Because you're most probably too
involved taking care of everybody and everything else but,
your pursuit of your woman health and fitness aspirations.
It's exactly the same
with your health woman self care. Although, your
not attaining your aspirations is unlikely to be as
detrimental as your not attending to your womans health. Please don't let your women's health aspirations become a pipe dream.
What, or who is a health woman?
A general definition of health, which I believe apply in
part to women's health, refers to:
"A combination of the absence of
illness, the ability to cope with
everyday activities, physical
fitness, and high quality of life"
Assuming you fit with this broad definition, you could be said to
be in a 'state of balance - of 'wellness'; which is
a term used to describe the emotional and pyschological state of being healthy.
The wonderful thing about a health woman is that she can create,
maintain and promote her current and future woman health.
How you think and what you subsequently do will determine
whether your actions promote, create or damage your overall fitness and woman health.
Any woman can make a commitment to her woman health fitness promotion,
but first you must employ your own system of wellness monitor.
That is, monitoring how you're doing health wise on a regular
If you are middle aged or of more mature years, please don't make
the assumption that getting older means becoming less proactive. Such
an assumption is an automatic self-imposed limitation on your
expectations. And since self-limitation happens in your mind,
your mind controls you, - how you think and what you do. So
none of that please!
Most of us, to a lesser or greater extent, and at some point or
another, take our womens' health for granted. For many of us, it's only
when we get the 'wake up call' of sudden serious ill-health, that we
actively plan and nuture good woman health and fitness. But do you really need to
wait until you get to that stage before you act?
Well, not any more. A health woman's care regime involve making
choices. These choices include you actively promoting your
womens' health. An important aspect of your health promotion is drawing on and making use of your own internal wellness monitor.
This is your starting point and will influence the decisions you take about doing certain things over
others. And I know you're going to really surprise me.
What are your excuses for postponing your Health woman health promotion?
Health for women is like what a piece of real chocolate is to our
taste buds. Yet many women, take their health for granted by
not giving it the attention it deserves. When it comes to health
and women, there's a tendency to prioritise the other priorities,
which, if given less attention, would most probably take care of
themselves. Let's take a look at some of the excuses us women
allow to pre-occupy us, hyjacking our health woman health care in the process.
You don't have time - there's the children to think about -
I hear you say
I have a home to run and the additional responsibilities
which go along with that responsibility - i.e.
the washing, cooking, cleaning, school runs alongside the
everlasting list of other things.
I have the holiday/vacation to plan
But aren't these the usual list of excuses you give yourself -
that you just don't have the time! Ask yourself this, - how come
you find the time to care for that wonderfully spotless
home, your neighbour keeps commenting upon? How is that
going to help you should your women's health and fitness fail you?.
Now I'm going to ask you something and I want an honest answer.
How much time and effort did you put into planning, - double
and quadruple checking that everything was just perfect, for
your son's or daughter's last birthday party; or the menu for
that dinner party you threw - when was it again? You found time
then and you can find time now to make a start on planning
your actions to promote your health woman status.
What use will you be to your family once you've exhausted all your reserves? In my

so you see, you now don't really have an excuse. But just in case you do - think on this:
While you're too busy taking care of everybody and every-
thing else, your woman health, - as sure as tomorrow is another
day, is slipping away from you. Don't leave it too late - by promising yourself
that you'll do it tomorrow. Have you heard the saying
'a promise is a comfort to a fool?'
And you're certainly not that - are you! If you're waiting for that perfect
moment, be warned that circumstances may never present the
perfect timing or the conditions you're waiting for.
Health for women means being healthy - and happy in the process;
this is the ultimate in attaining wellness.
It's about managing your life in the present so that it is
enjoyable now and reward you and those you love, well into
the future. Think health woman and stop putting off for
tomorrow, what you can do today.
